The Plateau State Human Virology Research Center (PLASVIREC) was established in 2004. It is co-located with the Plateau state specialist hospital, a state government owned facility situated in Jos, Plateau state. Plasvirec is a research and diagnostic center with an ISO 15189 accredited laboratory.
The center has a staff strength of 62 and has the following infrastructure:
- Counseling unit with 3 dedicated private counseling rooms and a waiting hall
- Sample collection/reception area
- Serology Lab
- Clinical Monitoring Lab
- Molecular Virology Lab
- Bio-repository

Jos has a local airport that is about 10km from the Clinical Trial site. Direct flight can be taken to and from Lagos.
Hotel
Jos is known a tourist center in Nigeria with 3- 4 star hotels within 2-5km around the clinical trial site.
