Biography

Eriobu Nnakelu MD, MPH is a clinical scientist with the International Research Center of Excellence /Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN). He leads the Nigerian Site as the Principal investigator of collaborative, multisite randomized clinical trials in infectious diseases funded by the US NIAID, UNITAID, and other industry partners. Nnakelu has been the country Principal investigator of START, D2EFT, ITAC and TICO therapeutic clinical trials which have investigated new and innovative treatment options/ combinations in HIV and COVID-19 treatment.  His focus is on infectious diseases and the interaction between infective pathogens and cancer.

Ethics & Regulatory Unit

The mandate of the Ethics & Regulatory Unit is to support IRCE to build the safety net required for research that is conducted therein and provide a compliant, uniform and supportive platform for investigators to submit and obtain regulatory/ethical approvals.
