MATERNAL, NEONATAL AND CHILD HEALTH

Maternal, neonatal and child morbidity and mortality are major global health issues that require the attention of both governmental and non-governmental organizations. IRCE research in this area focuses on the prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT), adolescent transition to adult HIV care and investigating the causes of maternal and child mortality including the deployment of comprehensive intervention packages that entails hospital-, community- and health system-based interventions in other to improve maternal, neonatal and childhood survival.
